When Do Clocks Change? Daylight Saving Time 2027

Every daylight saving time change in the world, on the timelines of your cities: when the clocks go forward or back in each country, at the moment it happens and at your local time.

The US and Canada change on the second Sunday of March and the first Sunday of November, at 2:00 am in each time zone, so the change rolls west hour by hour from Newfoundland to Alaska and the Aleutian Islands. Europe changes on the last Sunday of March and of October at the same instant everywhere, 01:00 UTC. In the southern hemisphere it is the other way round: New Zealand, south-east Australia and Chile move their clocks back in April and forward in September or October. Israel, Palestine, Lebanon and Egypt have rules of their own.

The rules keep changing. In 2026 British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba and the Northwest Territories stopped changing their clocks, and Morocco returned to GMT for good. The calendar is built from the IANA time zone database, the source your phone and computer use, and is updated with each of its releases.

Select a change to see how far the clocks move, the local time before and after for each offset, the countries and largest cities that change, and the date of the next change there. When two of your cities change on different dates, as the US and Europe do for a few weeks each spring and autumn, the timeline shows the gap between them shifting.
